This is a college pitcher with a blood blister that he got the night before pitching in his 2nd inning of a summer league game. Important that you keep the skin clean with rubbing alcohol and any other structures that will contact the skin. The needle must be sterile and you must wear gloves because there will be some blood that comes out of the blister. If you don’t feel comfortable doing this, send them to a doctor or other medical professional that can handle it. Let it heal and you must keep the skin clean until it heals completely to avoid infection. Don’t do this on your own if you are not 100% sure what you’re doing! Hope you enjoy the video.

this patient came in because of a large blister in her foot.
It did not look infected but it was causing pain and discomfort. We drained it by simple needle I+D and culture to make sure it is not infected.
