In the beginning of March 2020 the state of New York had its first positive case of the coronavirus. Since then the total number of COVID-19 cases have passed the 200,000 mark and the empire state has lost over 11,000 of its residents to the deadly disease.
The data in the map above shows official total death counts that occurred in hospitals and nursing homes. These numbers are from the N.Y. State Dept. of Health. The state is working to readjust these numbers to include deaths that occurred outside of those facilities, and also probable deaths per CDC request. Video Rating: / 5
